<description>Thank you Tim for the beatiful story you wrote, Michaels cousins all could relate to what you had written.
I wanted to let you know that Dan Van Der Vliet, who graduated the year after you and Michael went to Redmond High School and spoke to the principle there, if you do a google on Memorial for Michael Montgomery at Redmond High you will see something very lovely. Dan was a fellow co-worker with me at Bio-Rad Labs. He now works with Genie Industries. I would like to forward his email he sent me, it will bring a smile to your face. I believe Michael is the only soldier ever lost that graduated from Redmond High School. I am going to see if the city of Redmond or the Historical Society will also eventually do something.
Feel free to email me.
Dan and I are both on Facebook also.
Anita and I would like to get together sometime, she has lots to share. I just found it so cool to live his dream, in the 1991 yearbook he is standing next to a helicoptor that landed on the Redmond High School Campus.
You may have some input along with Dan and you may want to talk to him. We at Biorad are proud of him. I have shared your beautiful story with many I work with and they really enjoyed the article and all the articles you have written.I am looking forwar to seeing you soon, also if your Mom gets the Redmond Reporter the article on Michael is in the latest copy also People Magagzine the year end copy did a tribute to the fallen soldiers. It has Taylor Swift on the cover.

<description>Thank you Tim for sharing your friendship with Mike. The pictures are beautiful. I email with Mary, Mike&#039;s mother.
Our son, SGT Nickolas A. Mueller was on the same helicopter as Micheal. Nick was the crew chief positioned on the same side right behind Micheal. On one of Nick&#039;s Air Medals there was a sheet of paper with it, stating what happened just before the crash. It was on the landing when they were picking up. If you would like I can send you a copy of that statement. Nick and Micheal were the last ones communicating. There was nothing after that.

<description>Thanks Patsy. What&#039;s equally tough is knowing how many other young children are dropping white roses onto their mother or father&#039;s casket. I&#039;ve been paying attention since we went to war, but I&#039;m not sure a lot of the US has, and that&#039;s troubling...but damn if Mike didn&#039;t get to fly some cool helicopters!</description>

		<description>Hi Tim,

I am really sorry for your loss. You have memorialized your friend well, beautifully, and respectfully.

My thoughts are with you and his family. As an army brat, you put to words and pictures what I my brother and I grew up with. My brother is now an Air Force officer - yet to have his turn there.

Lots of love,
